Corner Culture with “Karambolage”
Discover French culture through authentic short videos
Begins: Wednesday, May 20
(High Beginner Level)
Instructor: Sylvie Hau
Recommended after completion of French 103 (or equivalent).
Join our lively summer workshop centered on essential communication, guided conversations, and cultural discovery.
This course is designed for high beginner students: if you can form simple sentences in the present tense, use a little passé-composé and the near future (futur proche), use basic vocabulary for everyday topics, ask and answer simple questions, and follow slow, clear conversations (even if you hesitate!), you are in the right place.
In a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, you will explore French through short videos, repetition activities, and guided speaking practice focused on real-life situations.
The main tool of this course is the exploration and discussion of three selected humorous and insightful Karambolage clips, helping you discover French habits, expressions, and everyday culture in an accessible and engaging way:
Bring your curiosity, your motivation, and your willingness to communicate!
What you will gain:
• Stronger ability to understand and use basic communication patterns
• Clearer pronunciation and more natural rhythm
• A better understanding of French culture and daily life
In-person
From Wednesday, May 20 to Wednesday, June 24 (5:45 to 7:45 pm)
