Welcome to the Continuing Beginners Fall Session!
This class uses the newer Edito curriculum, an interactive approach to language
learning. After completing the remaining units in Edito A1, we will dive into the
Edito A2 textbook.
Each unit revolves around a practical theme, and cultural segments allow students
to have a glimpse into the Francophone World. A variety of authentic documents incite students
to develop their oral comprehension and writing skills. Authentic realia, CDs and short videos are used
to that effect.
Firmly believing that learners need a solid foundation to achieve fluency, the
teacher strives to explain grammatical structures very clearly. To allow extra
practice, additional guides are handed out.
Our small classes give students the opportunity to actively engage in role playing
and guided discussions, while they are encouraged to improve their pronunciation.
It is our objective to explore the following topics and structures:
– college and professional life;
– nature and country living;
– learning a foreign language;
– leisure time;
– childhood, youth and memories;
– the press and the media;
– looking for an appartment;
– relative pronouns qui and que;
– comparison of nouns (moins/plus ___ de);
– reviewing the présent, passé composé, futur proche and impératif;
– Learning l’imparfait et le futur simple.
