This course constitutes a revision of and reacquaintance with the grammatical principles presented in the first two years of French study, a furthering of the understanding of French phonology and pronunciation norms, conversational tactics and fluency in everyday situations, the ability to speak in multiple complex tenses and to express emotions and wishes in the subjunctive mood. Travel savvy and cultural history will allow students to interact more freely and with confidence in French society. We will also explore French cultural mores and the fascinating continuum of French history, arts, and entertainment. Engaging conversations and spirited discussions of all aspects of French society take place on a daily basis.
This course continues our apprenticeship in the basic grammatical principles of French and furthers our understanding of French vocabulary and pronunciation. We will learn to converse in everyday situations, to express wishes, future plans, and to speak about past events.  We will continue our exploration of French culture, history, art, architecture, and the various regions of France and the francophone world during interactive class discussions and presentations.
