ART EXCURSION TO SEE FRENCH ART IN FRENCH AT THE CLARK INSTITUTE
OF ART

Join us for our autumn trip to Williamstown, MA where we will explore the renowned French collection of the Clark Art Institute. A Clark educator leads an in-depth thematic tour of the Clark’s permanent collection highlighting French art and culture and showcasing the artwork of the Impressionist movement – a hallmark of the Clark’s collection. The Clark’s chef is preparing French themed sandwiches for us (see below). Pending the weather, you may choose to eat inside or outside.

After you have registered, please email our Director Linda Zabor (dirafh@gmail.com) or text the office (860 278-9999) with your lunch options (a, b or c) and to let us know for carpooling if you are a driver or a passenger.

The cost is $50 for members and $55 for non-members of the Alliance Française de Hartford. This includes: entry to museum, docent tour, French boxed lunch.

BOXED LUNCH:

Accompanied with bag of chips, whole fruit, fresh baked cookie, and bottle of water.

1. a) Pit Smoked Ham – Lettuce, cornichons, Gruyère, croissant

2. b) Saucisson Sec – Buttered French baguette, cured meats, arugula, Dijon

3. c) Vegetarian Niçoise – Olive tapenade, hard-boiled egg, French green beans, arugula, red bell pepper, herbes de Provence, vinaigrette, buttered baguette

Itinerary:

9:30 – Meet your carpool companions.

11:30 – Meet at Front Desk of Clark Institute of Art.

12:00 – Leisurely lunch – indoors or outdoors

1:00 – 2:00 Docent led tour of French art

2:00 – ? Decide with your traveling companions when to depart to Connecticut.
